UX Engineer.

Ready to build the best-looking UX in hospitality?

The hospitality industry is calling for innovation, and at Butlaroo, we have the answer. As the fastest-growing AI-first ordering and payment platform for hospitality, we help thousands of businesses all over the world to innovate their operations. As our UX Engineer, you'll make sure every screen we ship is one to be proud of, and your work will reach millions of users.

This is a product-minded role that spans the full breadth of our platforms: dashboard, app, kiosk, online ordering, POS, workstation, and onboarding. You'll make the Butlaroo dashboard self-explanatory and self-serve, and build an onboarding-to-customer journey that measurably converts. The goal: the best and most beautiful UX of any platform out there.

What You'll Own 🎯.

  • Bring the UX of our dashboard, app, kiosk, online ordering, POS, workstation, and onboarding to a world-class standard.
  • Make the Butlaroo dashboard self-explanatory and self-serve, so customers rely less on support.
  • Build and continuously optimize the onboarding-to-customer journey.
  • Make sure Butlaroo has the best and most beautiful UX of any platform: something to be proud of.

Your Profile 🚀.

  • You're an experienced user of AI tooling and it's a big part of how you work every day. You know exactly which models work best for which of your workflows. For us this is a requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • A medior-to-senior front-end engineer who thinks from the product, not just the ticket. You have an opinion on how a module should work and can back it up.
  • You build production-grade, performant, accessible interfaces, with a sharp eye for detail: micro-interactions, states, edge cases, empty and error states.
  • You know the funnel: you form hypotheses, run A/B tests and experiments, and read the results correctly using analytics data.
  • Comfortable in design tooling (e.g. Figma), you translate designs into high-quality code and can make and improve design choices yourself.
  • You take areas end-to-end, from problem analysis and design to implementation, measurement, and iteration, and prioritize the work with the biggest impact on UX and conversion.
  • Available for 32-40 hours per week.

Our Stack.

We work with React and TypeScript on the front end, backed by a Java backend. A strong front-end/UX engineer who gets up to speed quickly matters more than knowing every tool.

Bonus points: experience in the hospitality, retail, or ordering domain; building and maintaining design systems; or experiment/feature-flag tooling.

What We Offer 🌟.

  • A key role in a fast-growing, international tech scale-up, with real end-to-end ownership.
  • Direct impact on a platform with millions of users.
  • Excellent benefits with 30 vacation days and a good pension plan.
  • A modern office in the heart of Eindhoven (with parking) and a fantastic lunch service.
