Why events are different

Hundreds of zones, one site, one window.

Twenty thousand guests pour through the gates in ninety minutes. The main bar runs out of pour-points. The food court takes the lunch rush in a single hour. A truck on the back paddock just lost its 4G signal. The caterer in the VIP marquee is sending seven-course dinners between sets. The same site, the same crew, and a window that closes when the last band walks off.

Butlaroo is built for that exact shape. One platform handles QR at the picnic tables, kiosks at the food court, handhelds at the gate and POS lanes at every bar, paced by a single kitchen layer, paid through one rail, on a network that fails over from 5G to 4G to satellite without dropping an order. The peak stays open, the truck keeps trading, and the data from the day is sitting on the dashboard before the site clears.

Four things change when events run on Butlaroo.

A track record at the venues that set the bar.

Seat-delivery QR powering hospitality at PSV's Philips Stadium and the Johan Cruijff ArenA, with a unique QR code on every seat. Kitchen and ordering orchestration at Carrefour's mega-restaurant events, where thousands of guests an hour move through one operation. Butlaroo is already running where event teams are asked to perform at their best.

    Enterprise-grade uplink. 4G, 5G, satellite failover.

Every Butlaroo terminal runs on a multi-carrier mobile uplink with satellite failover behind it. When the main tower drops at peak, the second carrier picks up in under a second. If both go, the LEO satellite keeps the orders flowing. No dead zones, no half-paid baskets, no ten-minute outage in the middle of a headline set.

QR and POS drop into any zone on site.

A QR sticker on a picnic bench, a handheld at the VIP lounge, a kiosk in the food court, a POS lane at the gate: every surface runs the same menu, the same basket and the same payments rail. Open a new pour-point at half time and it's live in minutes. Tear it down when the site closes.

Built for large catering, festival queues and food trucks.

Stadium caterers serving eight hundred business guests in two minutes. A festival food court running twenty operators on one map. A travelling fleet of food trucks that share a menu, a payments account and a kitchen display. Butlaroo paces every station against the queue, so the throughput goes up without the wait going with it.

Questions event operators ask.

  • How long does rollout take before an event?

Most events are live on Butlaroo inside two to four weeks. We start with the menu and a single zone (typically the main bar or the VIP marquee), stabilise it on a soft-launch event, then replicate the same setup across the rest of the site. There is no onboarding fee.

  • How does the network hold up off-site or under stadium load?

Every terminal uses a dual-SIM mobile uplink across two carriers, with a LEO satellite link as a third path. Failover between carriers happens automatically in under a second; the satellite is on standby whenever both terrestrial paths are unavailable. Baskets, payments and kitchen tickets all work offline-first and sync the moment a path returns.

  • Can we add bars and kiosks on the day of the event?

Yes. New surfaces (a pop-up bar, a second kiosk lane, a back-paddock food truck) are added from the platform dashboard and live within minutes. The menu, payments rail and operator splits all carry over without re-configuring anything per device.

  • How do food trucks and independent operators trade on the same site?

Each operator keeps their own menu, branding and payouts inside the same platform. Butlaroo Pay settles each basket as one transaction and routes the share to the right account based on what was sold. Your site fee is withheld at the source on every order. No monthly invoicing, no risk of late payment.

  • Do we need to ship new hardware to every event?

No. Butlaroo runs on any rugged tablet, mini-PC or kiosk shell, works with the major mobile card terminals, and accepts the QR and printer hardware you already own. We can rent a kit per event if you'd rather not buy one.
